About
I might write something in here one day. For now I’ll just list some bullet points. You can decide what comes first.
- I’m a big time gamer, owning a 360 a Wii and plenty of retro consoles and home computers
- An Apple fan, though I don’t own an iPhone as I prefer my Blackberry Storm. (I need my emails)
- I presented live, sometimes prime-time, TV for 18 months in the UK’s most watched video-gaming television programme.
- I, and my friends, were sacked from the TV channel, two months before it all completely collapsed after the ratings dropped. No link there I’m sure.
- I use an iMac at home, a Vista laptop for work on the go (business bought) and an XP desktop in the office.
- I am not a vicar, nor a reverend. In fact I have nothing to do with the church. I am just a plain father to my lovely daughter.
- I got my nickname when trying to register my first account with Xbox Live. ‘Fil’ was already taken, so I added ‘Father’, because that’s what I was.
- ‘Daily Dose of Life’ was intended to be exactly that - a daily dose - but the daily became weekly and the weekly became, well, whenever I could.
- The domain name ‘fatherfil.com’ also points to this website.
- I don’t watch too much TV, but I’ll watch Jonathan Creek, Inspector Morse, CSI (Las Vegas and Miami, but not NY), Psych and QI.
- I enjoy my job, as a software developer of most languages. I do the odd bit of web developing and designing too and throughly enjoying playing with new technologies and trying to connect them in innovative ways.
- Did I mention I love gaming and the industry therein?
- I’m a supporter of Southampton Football Club and I owe that to my step-dad who introduced me to football at the young age of 18 !
- I prefer ale to ‘fizzy-pop beer’. A good speckled hen, fursty ferret, tanglefoot or even a waggledance or banana bread beer will sort me out.
- I am working on a top secret project, that’ll be The Games Cast then, with Paul and Duncan (Guru Paul and Guru Boidster)
I’ll add more as time goes on. If I’ve forgotten something please tell me.
